The Foundation Fighting Blindness is inviting application for its Career Development Program. The aim of this program is to help advance junior clinical research scientists in their professional endeavors to cure retinal degenerative disease by: facilitating advances in laboratory and clinical research; elucidating the mechanism for the cause and pathogenesis of retinal degenerative diseases; and developing innovative strategies to prevent, treat, and cure these diseases.
This program supports up to 5 junior-level faculty for 5 years at $75,000 per year.
To be eligible for this program, applicants must be clinician-scientists possessing an MD, DO, OD, or recognized equivalent foreign degree and who are in their first, second, or third year of a junior faculty appointment, and should be committed to solving the mysteries of inherited retinal diseases. The deadline for applications to the Career Development Program is January 30, 2025.
The Foundation Fighting Blindness was established in 1971 by a passionate group of individuals determined to help find treatments and cures for blinding diseases affecting themselves or loved ones. Today, the foundation aims to drive the research that will provide preventions, treatments, and cures for blinding diseases, including age-related macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, Usher syndrome, Stargardt disease, Leber congenital amaurosis, and more.
