In March, Modern Retina’s cover story the intersection of humanity and technology, especially in relation to clinical trials. In this issue, Pamela Ann Weber, MD, shared insights on discussing clinical trial participation with patients and how these studies can help patients obtain better visual outcomes and ease treatment burden.

Arriving in mailboxes in September of 2024, the fall issue of Modern Retina featured a look at the social factors associated with diabetic retinopathy (DR) visit adherence. Arash Delavar, MD, MPH; Amer Fadel Alsoudi, MD; and Asad Loya, MD authored this piece as residents from Baylor College of Medicine in conjunction with Christina Y. Weng, MD, MBA. The article highlights the barriers that prevent some patients from receiving or continuing treatment for DR.
