Networking and social activities abound for APAO delegates

In addition to the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress (APAO) Fundraising Run, other social events are planned for delegates at this year’s meeting.

The results of the APAO-Asia-Pacific Ocular Imaging Competition (APOIS) will be announced at the APAO Congress. This year’s theme is "Imaging the Eye: Helping the World to See." The winning images will be exhibited at the congress. In addition, the winning images will be displayed in the Virtual Exhibition on the APOIS website and during the 2023 APOIS annual meeting in Hong Kong and at other events organized by APOIS.

Thursday, February 23

The Opening Ceremony of the APAO will run from 11:40 am to 13:00 pm in Plenary Hall, level 1 of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The ceremony is free and open to all delegates.

Friday, February 24

The Women in Ophthalmology Luncheon is scheduled for 12:45 to 14:15 pm in Meeting Room 301, level 3 of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Access to this event is by invitation only.

Young Ophthalmologists’ Night will take place at 18:30 to 20:30 pm in Cedar on 15, level 15 of the Impiana Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre Hotel. This event is also by invitation only.

The President’s Dinner will take place from 19:00 to 21:30 pm at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. This event is open to invitees only.

Saturday, February 25

The Leadership Development Program (LDP) Alumni Reception will take place at 13:00 to 14:00 in the Hospitality Suite 7M on level 3M of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. This event is reserved APAO LDP alumni.

The APAO Cultural Party and Award Ceremony is scheduled for 18:30 to 21:30 pm in the Grand Ballroom on level 3 of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The event is open to all delegates and the fee is $75 US dollars.
