Optos reference database includes highest number of patients of any cleared US database

The reference database from Optos PLC that is available for the company’s Monaco and MonacoPro combined ultra-widefield and spectral domain OCT devices, is the largest RDB available in the United States. This database could enhance the workflow of eye care professionals with its in-depth reference data for retinal layer thickness and optic nerve head metrics.

Optos Chief Executive Officer Robert Kennedy spoke to the size and significance of this database in the company’s press release, saying, “With the largest reference database of its kind in the US, Optos continues to set the standard for precision and innovation in ophthalmic imaging.   The Optos RDB includes the highest number of patients of any cleared US database. It comprises 879 eyes, aged 22-84, collected across nine clinical sites, offering a diverse and representative dataset to support clinical evaluations.
